How To Get Involved
- Volunteer with the Farmers’ Markets Volunteers are needed to help run the EBT machines, conduct customer surveys, give market tours, suggest recipe ideas, and offer taste tests/samples (if ServSafe certified). We have a training for all new volunteers (including shadowing current volunteers) as well as detailed information/how-to packets for each market. All volunteers must arrive at least 30 minutes early and stay 15 minutes late for set-up/clean-up. Volunteers can help any weeks that work for their schedule. Click here to sign up online.
- Volunteer for a Work Share at a Local Farm Food AND Medicine offers a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm share program through Happytown Farm in Orland. One of the CSA options is to work 4 or 8 hours per week at the farm in exchange for a share. To sign up for a work share or to learn more about the program, see Work Shares under Union Supported Agriculture.
- Volunteer to Work in the FAM Greenhouse Food AND Medicine has a year-round multi-use greenhouse on site that grows produce to support our regular events, programs and meetings and offers educational programs to community groups and schools. We need volunteers to help plant, water, and weed greenhouse beds. See Greenhouse for further details.
